This investment will strengthen Minnesota’s rural CHW workforce by helping the Minnesota Community Health Worker Alliance (MNCHWA) design stronger career pathways, better support employers, and develop workforce solutions shaped by the people and communities they are intended to serve.

This five-year federal grant represents…
An incredible milestone in our ongoing mission to improve health care access, quality, outcomes, and the viability of the CHW field by transforming the healthcare delivery ecosystem through CHW workforce strategies.
What This Means
Receiving this funding is a win for CHWs, CHW supervisors, employers, various stakeholders, and the Minnesota Community Health Worker Alliance. Thanks to this generous support, we will be able to:
▶ Build Rural CHW Workforce Pathways
Connect with rural employers, prospective CHWs, education partners, and training opportunities to create clearer pathways into CHW careers and support rural workforce needs.
▶ Help Employers Build & Support CHW Teams
Equip rural employers, supervisors, and care teams with the practical support needed to successfully hire, integrate, develop, and retain CHWs.
▶ Design Workforce Solutions That Work
Use employer and CHW input, workforce data, evaluation, and proven practices to design and continuously improve CHW workforce models that respond to the realities of rural communities.
